Refleksi Perkuliahan Filsafat Ilmu (6 September 2019)

Bagi beberaa mahasiswa, mungkin ini adalah mata kuliah yang baru. Bisa juga ini jadi mata kuliah yang sudah lama tidak dipelajari. Menghadapi sesuatu yang baru, biasanya seseorang menjadi lebih tertarik, termotivasi, dan ingin tahu. Harapannya, begitu juga dengan filsafat ilmu. Mahasiswa corious yang tinggi. Untuk itu, dengan membaca 8 jam per hari menjadi modal yang cukup bagi mahasiswa untuk sukses belajar.
Perkuliahan filsafat ilmu pada setengah semester pertama akan mempelajari konsep filsafat secara umum termasuk paham-paham dan aliran filsafat. Pada setengah semester kedua, akan mengkaji konten filosofis matematika yang meliputi geometri, statistik, aljabar, teori bilangan, dan kalkulus.
Filsafat mempelajari esensi dari konten-konten tersebut. Misalkan alajabar, bagaimana asal kata, mengapa disebut aljabar, siapa penemunya, kenapa berkembang sampai sekarang ini, mengapa dipelajari, dan manfaatnya bagi kehidupan manusia.
Filsafat adalah kajian yang sangat luas. Mempelajari filsafat bukan berarti memberikan justifikasi benar atau salah, tetapi mengkaji bagaimana kebenaran itu dengan asumsi-asumsi dan argumentasi yang diberikan. Dengan kata lain bahwa kebenaran itu relatif. Dengan filsafat akan membuka wawasan untuk mengkaji suatu masalah atau tema tertentu.
